Vi har altid arbejdet med en intern brief, hvor vi har skabt dokumenter, billeder og videoer, simpelthen fordi det kan være svært at holde en idé på sporet med tre individer. Det er nemt for nogen at blive skubbet ud af den kreative proces, når fokus ikke er klart defineret. Det er en formel, vi har brugt siden de tidlige 2000'er, men tingene har ændret sig meget siden da, især da vi besluttede at prøve kræfter med supportermedlemskaber med Patreon. Det fik os til at tænke over, hvad vi kunne gøre direkte for vores støttere i stedet for blot det næste album eller projekt. I starten føltes det hele mærkeligt og ubehageligt, men vi besluttede, at vi ville prøve et par ting og bede om feedback. \"Fragments\" var oprindeligt en måde for os at se, hvordan vi kunne inkludere andre i en igangværende kreativ proces. Der var intet overordnet koncept, ingen definerede karakteristika eller formål, blot løftet om, at der ville være mindst ét nyt nummer for medlemmer at downloade hver måned. Derfor vidste vi aldrig, hvad der kom næst, så den gamle, meget fokuserede arbejdsmetode var irrelevant. Det var svært for os at give individuelle spor slip uden at vide, hvad der kom næst, men dette gjorde også projektet mere interessant.
